Allen Pond Park Engagement Photos

Laughter & friendship. These two things will get a pair far. Being in front of a camera isn’t really a natural experience for most people, so going in I like to allow for “warm-up” time. When typing in that search box “engagement photographers DC”, keep in mind how a photographer makes you feel in those first few minutes of getting to know them. The best cure for camera shy jitters is acting a fool. I mean it! Acting a fool and being open to laughing at yourself and vulnerability is the cure! Imani and John were no strangers to my prompts of funny faces and picking each other up, as you will witness! It made for a grand evening at Allen Pond Park. We just jived, and it was a wonderful time to get to know them before their wedding this fall!

Allen Pond Park

We chose Allen Pond Park in Bowie, Maryland as a great central location. Sunset hits the lake just so, and it’s lovely. If you walk around the lake, you’ll find yourself in a heavily wooded area where sunlight streams through. Adventuring is a must, which is why sessions usually last between an hour and an hour and a half. You just never know what you’re going to find. 

When it comes to couples, each pair is different. One of my favorite parts of this job is getting to know you and read how your portraits should be captured. Imani and I quickly found out that we share a love of Harry Potter. She and John adore hiking with their daughter, Gia, and sweet pups! They are building a life together built on friendship, laughter, and family, and it is beautiful to witness.
