Urbana, Maryland Maternity Photos

Heather, Dean, and I met my freshman year of high school in Urbana, Maryland in an “Intro to Acting” class. We were our teacher’s first high school class, as she was fresh out of college. And though she tells us now that she would have done some things differently, there was a magic to that class like no other that bonded many of us for life. In that class, we all opened up, learned about improv and scene work, and generally had a ton of fun together. It was the last class period of the day, and that always added an extra freedom, ya know?

Dean and Heather became best friends in high school, and a few years after graduation transformed their relationship into more. Now, they are awaiting the arrival of their first child and their little girl is going to have so, so much love! Every time I think of their journey together it amazes me and makes me smile!

It had been storming ALL day, and we almost called off the photoshoot. I followed the edge of the storm in my car and just as I pulled up and stopped, out came a rainbow! We caught the rest of the evening light, a tremendously beautiful sunset, and the bugs were fairly tame. A win-win situation if you ask me.

It is a beautiful thing to come back home and see life flourishing. Sometimes the things closest to our heart are the ones we’ve known forever without realizing it. Life is funny and wonderful that way, and I was just super pumped to capture this big step in their life!!
