Backyard Wedding Ideas | Star Wars Wedding Ideas

When I say a look can melt, I mean Zoe & Brett and how they look at one another. Zoe & Brett’s backyard wedding was the most beautiful day in Bristol, TN. With a mountainous backdrop and close friends and family in attendance, Zoe and Brett said their vows on a sunny Saturday under the walnut trees. 

The style? Cottage core wedding. They also implemented some AMAZING Star Wars wedding ideas, with full head gear. The backyard wedding decor was simple and gorgeous, with catering by Bonefire Smokehouse out of Abingdon, Virginia.

Zoe and Brett through mutual friends through Emory and Henry College. As Emory & Henry alumni, they built a friendship and started dating in the summer of 2019. When I asked about her favorite date, she said:

“We went to a concert at our local town center…We enjoyed the music from our blanket on the grass and toward the end of the concert someone got proposed to and they played “Tennessee Whiskey” by Chris Stapleton and I begged Brett to go on the dance floor with me. I convinced him and we danced. Afterwords he said it felt like we were the only people on the dance floor, so cute 🙂 “

Can you guess what their first dance was? Yep, “Tennessee Whiskey”. It was beautiful. 

Brett proposed by painting “Zoe, will you marry me?” on the wall at the top of a parking garage at the end of the day. I saw pictures and it was so cute! They love the mountains, adventuring and camping together, cooking, and hanging with their fur babes.

What was even more special about their day was that it was the first time their family had been together in a long time. Zoe has four sisters, and getting all five siblings together at the same time hasn’t happened in a while, so this was a meeting of many celebrations.

For an East Tennessee wedding venue, a backyard wedding is truly a magical thing. They were at her great-grandparents old home, now used for vacationing, and it felt like going back in time. The warmth, the memories.
