Graduation Photos | American University
Senior Picture Photographer | Kogod School of Business
I had the utter privilege of photographing one of my oldest friends graduation photos. She recently got her MBA from American University, and she’s just moving ahead one day at time to great things.
I love seeing people kick ass. Am I allowed to say that in my blog posts? Kick ass. Ok, one more time. I love seeing my friends kick ass, and Trin is no exception. She and I go way back to our adolescent years, the good old 1990’s. I cherish the friendships that have traversed our span of 30 years, getting stronger as we go. It’s nothing short of amazing to look around and see community. With her degree, she will continue to do just that. Create community within larger spheres, bringing humanity into business.
For her graduation photoshoot, we knew we wanted the campus, but also a bit of nature. The Kogod School of Business is obviously quite stone-like, so we ventured around campus throughout her session. American University has a splendidly and surprisingly green campus, with little pathways that make you feel like you’re entering the forest.
Graduation Photos
For grad photos, they can get a bit generic and cheesy. You know the kind, holding the diploma and throwing the hat and such. And honestly…we leaned into that world. Let’s admit it, a graduation gown and cap begs for a hat throw and a promenade. We did both. We also decided that eleven in the morning was the perfect time for a champagne pop. Luckily, no gear was damaged in the making of those photos, just a little sticky.
The only thing better than seeing your friends do great stuff is getting to celebrate with them. Oh, and taking their graduation photos. That’s pretty awesome, too.

Just a PSA she’s wearing her grad hood wrong. Might wanna consider that when you post photos because she looks silly
