Linganore Winery Best Friends Photoshoot

First off, I’ve wanted to photograph a session at Linganore Winery for a WHILE. I’ve photographed events there before, but not portrait sessions, so this was a treat. The second bucket list item was a best friends photoshoot! 

Jilian and Supriya met during the summer of 2006 at University of Florida. They’ve been best friends ever since then, and they are coming up on their 15th friendiversary! For that momentous occasion, they decided on a romantic weekend getaway for wine tours and cider tastings. I was so happy they found me when looking for a photographer in Frederick MD. 

They’d been thinking through different best friends photoshoot ideas, and the winery seemed a perfect mixture of things they love to do together. 

Jilian describes Supriya as hilarious, wild, and emotional. Supriya describes Jilian as funny, sassy, nurturing. Jilian now lives in Florida with her husband and daughter, while Supriya is a nurse here in Maryland. Needless to say, it’s been a crazy and tough year for Supriya. I’m so happy I could capture this time for them!

I’ve noticed this too with my friends that the special bonds we formed as adolescents (or young adults) just stick. You can move away, not talk for 6 months, get swept up in life, etc. But the moment you see one another, you remember what drew you to each other in the first place. I’m grateful every single day for people I know will be around until we aren’t. 

Linganore Winery

Linganore wine cellars is such a perfect backdrop for weddings, family and best friends photoshoots alike. The vineyard, of course, but the rolling hills and expansive sky just beckons you to embrace it. They’ve got plenty of outdoor seating, and I must say that they have done a tremendous job of keeping folks safely celebrating during the pandemic.
