Newborn Photography At Home | Vihaan & Family

Maryland Lifestyle Photographer
All sessions are special and bring on their own beauty and puzzle pieces. Lighting, location, age of children, and many other factors can go into this. Newborn photography at home, most of all, is different and unique for each family.
Saloni, Suraj and Vihaan are a family of three that I am so grateful to have met and gotten to photograph. We laughed the entire time, and getting to photograph little Vihaan’s bubbly personality was a true joy. Some babies are just super smiley, and he is one of those babies.
Saloni & Suraj moved here not long before the pandemic hit. This, coupled with being pregnant, is something I tip my hat to as incredibly difficult this past year. The babies of this past year, dubbed “pandemic babies”, will have such an interesting first couple of years of their lives! Not to mention a way of identifying themselves as they grow older! “I was a pandemic baby, so…”, I can hear the youth of tomorrow saying! Wow, I feel old. So many kids haven’t gotten to meet other children yet, and I’m positive that this summer will be an amazing baby renaissance, full of park days and playdates.
Newborn Photography at Home
We wanted to capture Vihaan’s essence in his space, both playing and resting. If you know me, you know I prefer prompting couples and families into loose poses and capturing the candid happenings around it. We had a blast roaming their condo, and taking a stroll around the parking lot and neighborhood.
I shouldn’t have a favorite kind of photo, but I feel as though anyone would answer the same as me: baby laughter. It was impossible not to smile while editing their photos, and I look forward to many more photoshoots like this in the future!
Rather than a newborn shoot, they chose (or the pandemic did) to photograph Vihaan at 4, almost 5 months old. This was an excellent idea as babies are so much more expressive and engaged with the camera. Babies and animals know how to work a camera, I’m telling you.
