Cat Lovers Unite
Come one, come all, but especially pet people. Karen found me on instagram and sometimes you just know you’ll connect with people. Karen and Juan have two dogs and four cats, and that was all I needed to know we’d be friends. I am ecstatic for these two, as they embark on their journey of first time parenthood! Juan grew up in Frederick, moved to Miami and met Karen, and they found themselves back in Frederick! They volunteer and work for shelters and rescues around the region, giving extra love and care to animals of our not-so-little town.
The Session
For their special maternity session, they brought along their pups! Maya and “Poncho”, as they nicknamed him, are so incredibly sweet. They weren’t always sure about what I was up to with my camera, but they were willing to investigate. With pets, it’ll always be a bit unpredictable, but always fun to see what images come out of it. I’m stoked to share some adorable photos of these four! Right before she barked, Maya looked as though she was smiling, It’s wild!
Golden Sunset Maternity Pics
I was so grateful that Karen and Juan braved the cold for some shots, because ooh that sunset did not disappoint! Karen looked stunning in her olive maternity dress, and the four of them just matched perfectly (fur and all). Looking back at images always gives me the feels, and the one that got me while editing was an image of them looking at one another while walking. It’s so simple, and yet so supportive and loving. It really brings home why I do what I do.
