The last question I ask on the bottom of my website’s inquiry page is basically, if you could describe yourself in three words, what would they be? I list mine as “colorful, caffeinated, and thrifty”. When Rachel inquired about her maternity session, she led with “sarcastic” and I knew we’d hit it off quite well. I don’t use the word “cool” lightly, but Rachel and George are just so dang cool. He skateboards, and they both work for video production companies, so we had a lot to talk about in terms of the tv and film side of things.
It’s easy to see other photoshoots and worry that you need to look or act a certain way because it’s a maternity or newborn or engagement shoot. Some people choose the belly kiss and the heart on the stomach, and others prefer the humorous side of things. Sometimes it’s a mixture of both. And that is wonderful and OKAY! Photos would be boring, and honestly, not true to you if we made you pose in certain ways just because we saw it on Pinterest. Having a baby is a big deal, and capturing the gamut of emotions from joy to nervousness is kind of the most beautiful part of having a camera. We can capture that. And then you get to show your kid and be like, you see everything I did for you? Yeah. Go clean your room.
Oh, did I mention a muscular dude with a golden doodle joined in on the session for a hot sec? He was so jovial for a Saturday evening stroll, so I snapped a few pics.
Anyways, we strolled through the woods, found the setting orange light, and hid from the humidity among the trees. Check out their maternity photoshoot and keep an eye out for that golden doodle. 🙂
